It is Sunday afternoon and things are calm outside.
Last night and all morning we had bands of wind and rain come and go as a result of Ike going by Haiti to the North.
Most of the weak and loose branches were already blown down with Hanna on Monday so really not any visual evidence of a storm can be seen from our house.
Reports are that the big bridge collapsed near Hinch. The road by Gonaives remains impassable. The government had to release water from a dam which added to the flooding down by Gonaives.
Reports of number killed ranging from under 200 to over 500. Food, water and emergency supplies continue to be major concerns for families stranded in flooded towns.
MFI [Mission Flights International-our mail carrier] has some pictures on their site. Please check out the MFI website. http://www.missionaryflights.org/Latest.htm
Thanks for those who have called our folks checking up on us. Please continue to pray for Haiti.
