The sun is casting a golden glow from the east on the clear, cloudless Michigan sky causing the fresh snow to sparkle. Being in a home with Kris’ parents and ALL three of our children together fills us with gratitude.

After a busy week we continue to adjust to the time change, unpacking, and settling in to life in Michigan.

Last weekend we worked on preparing the garden and orchards in Zambia and packing up for our return to the USA.

On Sunday we traveled to Lusaka so we could head to the church office early Monday and then on to the Immigration office.

Vegetables do great in Zambia!
We saw a bit of hail on the way during one of three intense thunderstorms.

After a restful night in a nice hotel and a complimentary English Breakfast we headed to the office.

Bishop Judan made a few calls after we talked a bit about our work permit issues and after prayer we headed out to a different immigration office than our last visit.

Without any waiting we headed in for advice. The end result is that they were able to put our applications on hold until Cory receives his replacement diploma from Michigan State.

Sweet corn for seed and pop corn for popping
We applied for that as soon as we reached Michigan and should have the diploma in 4-6 weeks.

At that time we'll send it to the Bishop who will be able to have it submitted on-line attached to our applications.

Because Kris doesn't have all the needed documentation that Zambia's health department requires it is likely she will not be issued her own work permit so she will keep house, teach Fritz, and assist in the agriclutral work.

Lectureing will no longer be allowed for her but one on one conversations with friends will allow her to speak into lives, help find information on line, and pray for students and staff in a more casual fashion.

Nursery trees waiting for next rainy season
Anna flew in from California on Friday and we will be enjoying her 'spring break' week with the family all in one place!

She will need to continue her studies but we will enjoy every minute we can with her.

Now that we are getting rested up a bit we plan to catch up on office work next week, make some plans, apply to update Fritz's passport...and continue to rest up.

Orchard is growing well and only one tree died after planting,
eaten by termites.

Sounds like overall the way forward is encouraging! You will be able to carry on your work for the Lord in Zambia, even though some things will be a little different for you, Kris. The Lord knows where you're needed most at this time. It's a blessing to have all of your family together again during Anna's spring break, too!! Hoping/praying your dad has continued to improve and feeling much better now than in past months. Keeping you all in my prayers!! Alice
