Day 12 in Zambia

Time continues to move but in a new way.

Sunday night we enjoyed a four way conversation across three time zones: we had finished supper; Eli and my folks had finished lunch in Michigan; and Anna was preparing breakfast in California.

My mind hasn't adjusted to chatting with Anna some mornings before she heads to bed yet I'm very grateful we can easily connect at the end of her day with good internet to hear about her adjustments and orientation.

Fritz and I started 6th grade on Monday, so getting back into a school routine.

This year we will be learning about countries in the 10/40 window using Sonlight's Eastern Hemisphere curriculum, starting with China.

In Zambia there are three one-month school breaks. They just started their second break of the year for August, the third starts after the first week of December and the first is in April.

We will school unless traveling or visitors take precedent in order to complete our year before returning to the USA in May.

I'm very thankful for the ability to down-load books and find videos to enhance our learning.

Jembo Pilgram Wesleyan Church
We enjoyed church at the Jembo Wesleyan Church on Sunday just a 20 minute walk down the road.

Fritz will need to adjust to longer services as he rarely had the opportunity to attend 'full' Haitian church at Délice as we normally worshiped at the neighboring children's home.

We arrived for just the worship service at 9am but Sunday School was still in session for about 20 minutes before it shifted to the regular service and it finished close to 12:30.

Campus remains quiet as the Bible school is not in session and others are off attending conferences at other locations.

Couldn't pass up a stop at the John Deere Dealer.
Rev. Judain has hopes for the Jembo land that Cory
 finds exciting!
Cory traveled to Lusaka with Rev. Samson on Tuesday to shop for a vehicle and needed items: tools, supplies, and food.

They ended up overnighting at a Catholic guest house, and returned late on Wednesday.

Paperwork and payment are in process to purchase a very nice used Toyota pickup truck.

Cory also met with the national superintendent, [called Bishop here] Rev. Judan to discuss the goals and dreams of the national church.

Some tools and supplies bought include: fan, clock, cordless drill, machete...but limited time (not allowing switch to a smaller store) and high prices at the big hardware store kept many things on the list for later shopping trips.
