Frying Blue Gill fillets! |
This week included: school, office work, Kris' women's Bible study concluded; exercise; cook; shopping; helped around the yard a bit; more sorting and cleaning our stuff and some of the folks: transferring personal journals onto the computer; visiting with family; watching the weather during a tornado warning with Kris' folks in the basement [we live in the lower level apartment so they joined us]; one zoom meeting, lots of e-mails dealt with or just deleted; work on future plans for meet-ups over the next few weeks.
Uncle Bill took Fritz fishing. Fritz caught, cleaned, cooked, and consumed tasty fish.
Aunt Sandy joined them for ice cream before Fritz came home.
On Friday Cory and Kris filled in for friends of Todd and Beth, joining them and Ty on the 11th annual Kalamazoo Hot Dog walk.
We joined a full school bus of folks and visited 6 stops to pick up, taste, and eat our hot dogs.
Others turned in their choices but as we were standing in for Mr. & Mrs. Flags...ours were a bit of a surprise.
Following advice we had brought our water bottles and a cooler for the hot dogs we couldn't eat.
Started out in the rain but thankfully the weather cleared up some.
Our kids were able to taste most of them when we returned home.
Saturday Cory and I returned to the drum project..filling one empty drum and topping off one of Anna's and a couple of Eli's.
While looking around to make sure we didn't have other items hanging around that could be gotten rid of, I located a large pile of boxes of books! These were from my folks, grade school, high school, and college.
YES!!! 10 boxes of books loaded into the truck with other items found in the garage closet that could be re-homed. One box of books that need to be passed on to my brother and only 1/2 a box head back to storage!!!!
For a book lover like me this is something to celebrate. And part of those in that box will be looked at and then donated in the next few weeks.
