Substitute Blog due to delay. Oil palm harvest.

Well I'd hoped to be sitting and talking with my parents at this time as Anna and I remained back home this morning expecting the early morning trip to the airport to be complete before lunch.

Great disappointment occurred with the call informing us that while the folks and Steve made it in shortly after 8 a.m. their luggage took a later flight therefore the rest of them would be going to visit Pastor Rigo's church and then enjoying lunch in Cap Haitian before returning to the airport in the early afternoon to check on the bags! SIGH.

Strong arms!
Both Anna and I wished we could rewind the day and it took a while to regain our earlier sunny attitudes.

As we continue to wait we've cleaned more, studied together and independently and enjoyed a lunch of leftovers.

The guys brought the camera with them so no pictures of the nicely cleaned and made up rooms for our special visitors.

Eli will move down to the House of Hope with Steve as my folks will be staying in his room.

Saw on the green bamboo on the right.
So while you and I wait for the mini-team to actually arrive and tell their stories for a blog.. a few pictures from yesterday's oil palm harvest and Anna's attempt to treat a wart with a wood bee sting.

Time will tell if it worked. Cory believes that a bee sting once cured a wart of his.

But they debated if the wood bee sting is powerful enough to treat?

Especially as the sting  really did not hurt as Cory's did from a honey bee.

Glad no one got hit when it came down.

Most of the oil palm fruits Cory's guys will try to extract the oil from but he and Anna did boil up a few last night.  Anna tried some-texture like a stringy mango. The taste-salty palm oil.

Her chin turned an interesting gold color from the oil.
Note the thick stalk!

They saved a few for the team to try so will try to get some additional taste testers opinions later.

Report at 2 p.m. from airport: Still waiting!

Guess I better go find something else to do to distract myself while we wait otherwise I may again slide into a negative attitude.

So off to count my blessings!

They made it with all their bags just in time for supper. Tired but here.
