Cassia alata: medicinal ringworm bush. |
Motivated by doing what's best for our children, good leftovers for the weekend and the basic fact that we like pizza!
Cory will not be joining us as his day after watering the potted plants will consist mainly of a trip to Cap Haitian motivated by the need for a trip to the bank, picking up cargo and shopping before our three visitors arrive next week.
Deep, thorough cleaning occurring in our house motivated not so much by Grandma's visit [so all of you do NOT need to write me that my mom is coming to enjoy the family and not do house inspection] but because I do not want to miss the opportunity for a good clean and my children's motivation increases greatly with the anticipation of the visitors.
Cory yesterday spent over an hour with our school's director going over a children's book word for word translating it into Creole motivated by the knowledge that this book will clearly share the plan of salvation to grade school children. Also as to help me out! He's a good husband and I'm very glad he's mine.
Motivated to produce the best newsletter we can to keep our support team current on the ministry here we head out with the camera while discussing what areas need to be a priority and find space in the letter. [Ideas or questions welcome!!]
School continues as I work to find ways to help Eli and Anna learn to motivate their own learning and accomplishments. I need to stop 'reminding' and 'nagging' them now that they are old enough to take responsibility for their own schedules and work loads while continuing to be available to help when asked. NOT always an easy balance for me to reach so keep praying.
On Monday's I've taken to compiling a list for the week to keep me motivated to complete tasks in the multiple areas of my life during the week. I like to check off the completed tasks more than moving them to the next week-but do not stress if a few spill over.
Motivation to write this blog: to stay in contact with friends and family [especially those on our prayer team!], share information, meet new friends, a pondering place and to leave a record for our children of these special days. Thank you for stopping in for a visit.
But my basic motivations in life from which I hope and pray that all the lesser motivations spring from are to draw closer to my Lord bringing Him the glory and honor that only He deserves. Thankfully He helps with this when I ask Him.

We recently saw Cassia alata for the first time on a trip to SE Thailand. After moving to Chachoengsao province, I notice that it grows in this area. I wasn't aware of it's potential medicinal properties, but now I think I may want o plant one in a pot so that we can play around with it.
