Sunny Packing Day

Looking out the folk's large picture window the sun shines brightly and the white airplane trails show up against the pale blue sky.

Packing 95% complete with a few bathroom items and paperwork left to pack. The only big thing remaining on the to-do list is to clean up our basement apartment.

Tomorrow afternoon we will say our final good-byes and wing our way South. Lord willing we land in Port-au-Prince on Saturday morning to be picked up at the airport by Pastor Denord who drove down our truck yesterday.

Just looking back at the last 10 weeks makes me tired...but we accomplished all major goals and many smaller ones as well.

A recap: visited 19 churches [4 new first time visits] , 1 high school, 1 college class, Anna's oral surgery, Eli's PSAT and learning disability testing, Eli's first phase of driver's education, 2 funerals [Kris's grandmother and Cory's uncle], engineering day at Calvin, celebrated 3 family birthdays on time and a few off dates [late or early], American Thanksgiving, 2 family Christmases, sent out newsletters, had eye and dental check ups, shopping, and much more.

While the family good-byes remain a painful part of this life it is time to return home. Wish teleportation really existed so we could just beam back and forth but....until that day thankful for air travel.

Glad we could visit in person with many of you during our trip. Thank you to all who faithfully pray for us and the ministry. We hear that John Pierre has been ill so please pray for him. Fre. Marison, long time mission driver on LaGonave suffered the loss of his adult son in a traffic accident yesterday.

Meetings concerning the work on LaGonave and the LaGonave hospital will occur for the next week.

Not sure when I'll have a chance to update so do not worry if you do not hear from me in the coming week.

Friday: good-byes and fly to Miami. Saturday: Into Port, pick up truck, shop and go to the Baptist mission. Monday: I travel to the hospital meeting, Cory plans to work on our visa paperwork and do some shopping. Wed. Cory and kids plan to met with Dr. Steve. Friday we will drive home!!!

Blessings on your first days back in Haiti. It sounds like you HAVE had a very full trip. 9 weeks isn't much time, they go fast!
