Seaside in Haiti

Sun reflecting off the calm sea as I enjoy the slight movement of air from the overhead fan.

Friday we left Michigan and flew to Florida. We arrived early with our 8 big bags and sat for 40 minutes or so while the 2 baggage checkers looked thought the stuff. Thankfully flying all the way to Haiti on American Airlines meant that we did not have to collect our bags in Miami and clear security again.

Good flights put us in Miami for a chilly 6-7 hours at the airport. The flight into Haiti just as uneventful as the first two. We cleared immigration through the newly opened area and before we knew it spotted all 8 bags already off the moving belt waiting for us. Not one bag needed to be opened and we were through!

Pastor Denord dropped off our truck and left the key with a gentleman who we found after a few phone calls. Tied down the luggage under a tarp and then waited a few minutes for a young man to come and escort us up to Haiti Baptist Mission where we would be staying.

With the luggage in the back of the open truck and only tied down he rode in the back for security and helped to direct Cory through some side roads.

Lunch at the restaurant near the Mountain Maid and then naps.  Enjoyed reconnecting with some of the missionaries we've know for years and reviewing our other great visits to Fairmont over the years.

Enjoyed a great nights rest and a quiet day. This morning we left Eli and Anna at the apartment while we traveled down into Port. We again joined the young man who drove us to the bank where we left Cory to get the check for our visas. While he waited I met up with our field director Pastor Dan who was in town dropping off folks to the airport before returning back home-where the hospital meeting will be held.

I just heard from Cory that the paperwork went fast for our visa renewals and he is almost back up the mountain to spend the afternoon with the kids. Wed. they will pick up the visas, do a bit of shopping and visit a bit with Dr. Steve.

Thanking God again for your safe travels
:-)
Enjoy that warmer. Today, when I put on my winter coat I'll be thinking about the Thede's in Haiti.

I pray for God's continued guidance, protection, blessing, and the Gospel Message preached through us for His Glory. Amen!

Have another Great Day in the Lord.
