First 4 days of our trip out East.

Greetings from Western New York.

Last Friday morning we loaded up my parents vehicle and headed out for Pennsylvania.

Travel days can be long but with the nice smooth roads in the USA, books on CD, and fun hand-held electronics the miles fly by rapidly.

Friday afternoon we enjoyed reconnecting with Carol who showed us some of Pittsburg, treated us to tasty Thai food and then we visited the conservatory and learned a bit more about plants.

Then we traveled further West to Altoona where we spent the night, then to Brookside Church for a wonderful Saturday morning brunch.

Fancy pancakes, egg casseroles, and muffins filled us up before we shared about the work in Haiti.

Saturday afternoon we enjoyed the fall colors while heading East where we shared with our partners at the Sandy Lake Wesleyan church on Sunday morning.

A special surprise was to see our Haiti team leaders Dan and Joy Irvine and also the Manwarings, missionaries to Africa and have a few minutes to chat before the first service.

After a missionary moment in the second service we each joined Sunday school classes and then enjoyed a good thought provoking sermon in the third service.

Helen and Carol stopped in for a short chat after the third, having gone to hear Dan and Joy speak at a nearby church.

Although Sunday afternoon's weather turned cold and wet our travel remained on schedule and we arrived at the Big Tree church in time for supper before sharing.

After enjoying ice cream we joined Pastor Doug and Kathy for a night at their house.

Monday morning we headed South to the Salamanca area.

On the way we stopped at a sculpture park for some fall hiking and exercise.

The afternoon we visited with the Zinns, enjoyed a great supper at the William's home and shared at the Whig Street Church.

Today we'll head up to Falconer to share tonight at the Peace Wesleyan church.

E-mails from Fauche report that all remains well at home.

Gorgeous fall foliage - glad things are going well both at home and in the US.

Sometimes we here in the USA take for granted our ability to travel about on nice roads and see such a beautiful country.

Praying for your safe travels. :-)
