Team Three Haiti Travel

Yesterday morning our third team of 2012 arrived in Haiti shortly ahead of their luggage. But before they left the airport area a small plane landed so they backtracked a bit to see if the bags arrived and they did.

This team consists of 6 first timers and 4 returning friends from two of our supporting churches in Battle Creek, Michigan and Warsaw, Indiana.

The big rented truck transported the team to the center of Cap Haitian where the family of a good friend and business man who lives directly across from the large central open-air market had a nice Haitian meal waiting.

This opportunity combines a short walk through the street markets of Cap, a visit to a small typical grocery store and a lovely Haitian meal enjoyed in a roof top garden.

The second stop in Cap Haitian introduced the team to Citi Chauvel church and school. A few high school students interacted during the school tour. The team asked a lot of questions.

Then on to Fauche over our improved but still a bumpy reminder that work remains to be done. I hear that Cory talked 'a lot' on the trip answering questions on the way. Because the team would of arrived during French class we completed our school day by canceling class and working on other schoolwork until we heard the truck driving up the hill.

Greetings to returning friends as well as introductions to our new friends were followed by the working out of bedrooms. Slowly housing questions received answers as transported medications, tools, parts and some tasty treats moved from luggage to the central table.

Once Cory rejoined the group after talking with our Haitian staff we held an orientation meeting and answered more questions. This lasted until supper time when we moved the talking to our home to enjoy chicken pot pie [Happy Pie Day to our mathematically minded friends].

Following dishes, Cathy shared devotions and lead the team's time of sharing about their day. Returning to the House of Hope to set up mosquito nets, fans and some fellowship.

This morning we will tour the compound and show them the project list. Praying that the Lord will be glorified and honored today. May each person learn the lessons and experience what God has for them today.
