28th May

The road opened the day our first visitors made it to visit. We've been to the HAFF [Haitian American Friendship Foundation] compound twice over the years and thoroughly enjoyed a visit from their missionaries on Thursday night. Cory showed them around right before supper.

They came baring gifts of a delicious cake [appreciate Connie for holding it over 60 bumpy miles] and plants! We hosted them for the night and sent them off with hugs and plants to the graduation at the Christian University of Northern Haiti.

Because the 'church' area serves as a high school class room during the week the members of Compassion's Child Surviver Program on campus met under our carport this week. Very encouraging to see these young parents meeting, singing, laughing as they learn how to live better lives. They enjoyed a movie as well as speakers.

Last night Cory and I enjoyed supper planned for and made by Eli and Anna to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary. We had tasty noodles with beef sauce and cookies.

Thanks to the visitors our normal Saturday house cleaning chores will not need to be done.
