Dec. 20th Christmas Week!

The Christmas festivities started this past week for our family. We enjoyed some time with the Ter Avest family on Saturday night catching up with the cousins and their families. Family is what we miss most when spending the holidays in Haiti.

Yesterday we enjoyed meeting supporters at Battle Creek First Wesleyan church as well as a brief visit with Ann O'Dell, wife of Pastor Art one of our pastor to missionaries in the last 12 years. Part of our visit to First Wesleyan we chatted with folks who had planned to visit us on a team in February. One hard thing we did this week was to post-pone this team because of difficulty of lining up tickets as well as the potential with elections in January of travel difficulties.

Lord willing they will be able to visit later in the year.

Michigan has a scattering of snow on the hills today with a couple times between now and Christmas that we may pick up some more. Anna laments the fact that she does not remember ever celebrating a white Christmas and is praying for additional snow this week.

Last night we joined a small group from the Allegan Wesleyan church on a delicious progressive dinner. The great food accompanied with even better fellowship ended a wonderful day.

Today we completed a few things off the to-do list before heading out the door [soon] to drop off Eli and Anna at Aunt Lori's and Uncle Dan's for a sleep over!! [Anna doesn't know it but she will be surprised to learn it is also a 2 month early celebration of her 10th birthday! ]

Cory spoke to the folks at Fauche on Saturday and they report all is well. The clinic remains busy but it has slowed a bit-which I'm sure the staff are thankful for. The work on the church rebuild continues putting in the fill for the church floor.

Trust you too will have time this week to make some great memories with family or friends.
