April 10 Cory's projects

Cory has been busy between shuttling the kids to school and back.

Yesterday we visited two local gardens. This is Gener's house and we hiked up the mountain in back to his garden. OK-Cory and he went all the way while I stayed on top to enjoy the view. Not the easiest walking on loose dirt and rocks.

After that visit we went to the other side of the clinic area to see the garden of Fanny's son [she cooked for the team.] After visiting his land he returned to see what Cory has growning in his garden. Here they are discussing Moringa.

As we haven't been here a year Cory is still experimenting, researching and learning what corps will do well, what the local pests are, and local problems. But he is happy to met people who want to learn and improve their gardens along with him.

Another experiment Cory has been looking into and trying is to make chocolate. Now this is a project that has the whole families interest and blessing. He is now trying to ferment the seeds on the stove. Will let you know if he makes good chocolate.

Many of the trees are dropping their leaves with the recent rains so Cory is adding to the mulch pile by the garden. He has spent hours planting seeds as well as transplanting Artemesia.

We are enjoying fresh broccoli and grape tomatoes from the garden.
