Back Home

Greetings from Fauche. Sorry for not having posted many blogs from LaGonave but the Internet system was unreliable. We are back home and unpacking. Because the memory on our main computer was nearly full Cory worked on LaGonave to clear it but for some reason now that we are back North it will not connect to the Internet. We are able to connect with a older laptop that the kids use for games. Until we are back on the main computer I will not be able to post photos.

We had a good trip. Things accomplished as follows:
  • Dr. Ferdinand had 12 days of vacation only coming to the hospital for one C-section.
  • Visited the Anse-a-Galet church. Reconnected with friends.
  • We sorted though boxes of supplies sent from Michigan this past summer. Items were for the hospital, the North clinic, tools for the North station and some personal food and tools.
  • Cory worked with the mission computers and Internet system.
  • Cory took a trip to the mountains to see the trees and plants.
  • Cory sent 125 pounds of Moringa seeds to Port for inspection and then shipping to ECHO.
  • Kris saw hospital patients and ended up delivering 5 babies. Christmas morning I was privileged to deliver a set of twins for a lady who 4 years ago I delivered her fist set of twins.
  • Attended the hospital and mission staffs Christmas party, as well as the Missionary Christmas supper.
  • Picked up linens, towels and sheets for our guest house in the North. Also picked surgical tools that LaGonave had extra of and were needed in the North.
  • Kids and Cory took a 3 hour hike to the water source.
  • Visited the enlarged market and visited with many of our friends.
  • Enjoyed family time, games, and a trip with the Irvine family to the sandbar for swimming.

Merry Christmas a bit late. Thedes
