The differences between the North and LaGonave have been interesting. On LaGonave we were almost always able to get good tomatoes, potatoes, egg plant, onions, carrots and cabage.
One would think that where rain wasn't a limiting factor you would be able to get more veggies. But it is hard to find potatoes, tomatoes, egg plant, especaily nice ones. Here there is more cassava, yam (tropical non-sweet yams) breadfruit and cooking bannana than potato. These are all good but don't taste the same as potato.
It is currenly avocado season-these nice ones cost less than 10 cents each . And we have a banana seller who comes to the house. We pay her asking price of about $1.50 for a nice large bunch of bananas. On LaGonave they would cost twice that much.
The Moringa trees have been planted along with other veggies and fruit trees. Artemisian is growing well and the zuchini Cory planted is growing faster than some local squash. We will see how things do but are hopeful in a few months that our own garden will be producing a varity of veggies to add more variety to our diet.

Thanks for putting this site in your October update. This is my first visit. You bring Haiti much closer to us. We'll keep on praying for all of you and especially the time spent on the roads each day. We'll post this site at Allendale Wesleyan for others to see.
