More travel

During our travels to New York, my main role in the car consisted of navigator.

Waze and I did pretty good...just a couple short turn arounds in bigger cities when too many close roads lead to confusion.

This week it struck me that life directions can also be like using Waze.

When emotions start to run high due to someone being overwhelmed; either myself or others...I can zoom out for an 'overview'.

I see this happening when 'I lift up my eyes to the hills-- where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.' Psalm 121:1

Then once I become calm and peaceful I can 're-center' on the situation at-hand; doing the next thing well and with a good attitude.

Now I admit some days I need to bounce between 'overview' and 're-center' several times [maybe in an hour's time if I'm being honest], and frequently during challenging times of the day.

Persistance is key for those demanding, strenuous days.

Do no loose hope.

Do what it takes to remain calm, with eyes fixed on the Lord.

We saw some reports this past week from organizations and people able to get fuel during the week that the gang in control of the port for fuel in Port-au-Prince allowed fuel to move...the fuel transportation was to stop again on Thursday....until the prime minister steps down.

No news on how hostage negotiations are going. Continued prayer for those being held, their families, negotiators, and those holding them.

After Monday's long day in the car traveling back from New York to Michigan our week filled up: school, yard work, appointments, shopping, processing two deer [neither shot by our guys but the freezers are nearly full!], writing thank you letters, laundry, cooking......

Next week we'll do more of the same as well as celebrating Thanksgiving with both of our families and starting to decorate for Christmas.

Thankful for a few days of no travel. No long trips planned at this time.

Thankful for each of you who take the time to read this, pray for us, support and encourage us.

Photos from the last couple weeks.
