Haiti update and Michigan Time

Early on Wednesday morning President Moise was assassinated in his home.

His wife survived the attack, was medivaked to Florida,  and is recovering.

Many of the group assumed to be involved in the assassination are in custody while 8 remain in large.

The USA sent national intelligence and security experts to investigate the situation and help with gathering information.

All of the Global Partner's Haiti team are in the USA at this time.

Reports out of Haiti push us to pray for peace and the truth...as many rumors continue to fly.

While folks in some areas are traveling locally and shopping, many report a very heave sense of tension as everyone waits to see what is going to happen. Determining the successor to the President is very unclear.

Staff both in Délice and Fauche are in contact by phone and doing as well as can be expected.

I'm looking out on a rainy Michigan day, the green corn stalks and lawn contrasting with the grey sky.

After the isolation of the mountain I've both enjoyed and tired from all the conversations and interactions: Bible study, sharing at Corner Bible, family cottage days at the lake, small group-that we've attended when possible for the last few decades, and high speed internet!

Spending time as a family of five: sometimes adding grandparents or Philip...so enjoyable.

Even just having all of us in one room is wonderful.

Family memories...praising the Lord for our time together.
