Opening day.

Today Cory and I worked on the to-do list between laundry and office work.

Eli, Anna, Grandpa watched the cold chilly sunrise from the edge of the woods, thankful that the corn harvest occurred yesterday increasing visibility for Michigan's first day of white-tail deer hunting.

This morning they remembered what cold feet felt like and we all saw 3 does that stayed closer to those of us in the house than those out in the cold.

This afternoon my brother and 2 of his children will join them for making generational memories trying to fill freezers with venison.

Yesterday we visited a school of 9-10 graders who learn with problem-based learning projects. Cory's cousin teaches here and we hope that Eli and Anna may be able to partner with students by E-mail on projects looking at how to improve some of the problems Haitians deal with on a daily basis.

Tomorrow we will arrive at the two week countdown. Cory, Eli and I will drop Anna off at Cory's folks on our way to experience Calvin College's Engineering Day. Cory will leave early to attend visitation and memorial service for his Uncle Harry who passed away this week.

Following the service Cory and Anna will return to pick up Eli and I before heading to Cory's sister's house to hang out with the family.  Aunt Lori will bravely host a cousin's sleepover.

Saturday time with the cousins and then off to Hickory Corners for supper and a chat with the youth group. Sunday morning we return to talk to the rest of the Hickory Corners church.

Thank you for the prayers.

Sorry to hear of Cory's family's loss. Hope the engineering day, cousins' sleepover and other things were all successful and the freezers are filled.

No we did not get a dear opening day but a friend got one yesterday and gave us the meat. Cory, Dad, my brother and niece processed it today so have jerky marinating!
