The Battle Still Rages

Thankfully my experience with war remains on textbook pages or videos.

I pray that this will also remain true for my children, but this week always reminds me of the Battle still raging in every corner of the world.

Tuesday night the drums, horns and chanting of the Voodoo service made for restless broken sleep. Cory woke up at midnight when the noise became more frenzied and intense.

We know from our Christian friends that often curses will be pronounced at midnight.

Yesterday the noise started up again in the afternoon but thankfully did not continue all night.

While working on the Kid's Club family pictures for prayer partners John Pierre informed me that this family worships Satan.

Cory remembers that during the home visit the family shared with the team members prayer requests-the garden does not produce enough food to pay much to improve their living conditions in a leaky old house.

I find it very interesting that this family not only let their children attend a weekly Christian children's meeting but would request prayer and allow Christian families in the US to pray for them weekly.

Know that tomorrow both sides of the battle will clam victory. The Christians here will meet together to  think about the Lord's time of suffering on the cross and how He opened the gates of heaven for those of us who confess and believe.

At the same time those in bondage to Satan will meet. I do not know if they rejoice in the Lord's death, in the death of the Son of God? I do know they feel it is a time when evil can be victorious. A time of power.

Please pray for those who live in spiritual bondage and fear. As you celebrate Life through a risen Lord and Savior remember those who do not yet know.

Peter Olson said...

So when Jesus had received the sour wine,
He said, “It is finished!”
And bowing His head,
He gave up His spirit.
John 19:30 (KJV)

The battle may still rage, but the war has already been won. Jesus Christ lives and Satan is doomed.
Amen! Praise God!
