Tomorrow we start for home.

Birthdays celebrated, projects done, gifts put away or packed, the gingerbread house mostly eaten, the new year rung in...the snow gently drifts to the ground as our packing comes to an end. Now only a couple small personal bags await for snack food and the computers.

Travel Plan 'A':
Leave Grand Rapids Airport tomorrow afternoon, pass through Atlanta and then overnight in Ft. Lauderdale.

Thursday Morning: Fly American into Port-au-Prince at 8:40 a.m. Get all 12 bags though customs and onto the vehicle picking us up. Then either drop off the bags at Irvine's or head right to the Emigration office to renew our residential visas.

Friday: Get anything done that we didn't get done on Thursday. Start to organize our next week including the start of our school year. Catch up on the news from the rest of Haiti and the team.

Saturday [Jan. 10th] Return to the small airport for a MAF charter at 11 a.m. which will carry us to Cap Haitian airport.
Someone will met us with the truck, likely do a bit of shopping and grab lunch before the 1.5 hour ride home.
Following a HUGE sigh of relief of being home will greet everyone and learn the news. Unload the truck. I will start to unpack while Cory checks out the garden, Anna plays with friends, and Eli works on Legos.

Looking forward to a day of rest on Sunday!

I have been following your blog since shortly after the earthquake. I have only "lurked" but I would like to post now to wish you all safe travels back to Haiti.

Thank you. We called home today and everyone is ready to go. A few more good byes to the grandparents and a couple cousins and then we're off. Just had a snowball fight with Anna and Eli-Anna's one thing she hadn't done.
