3 rd Sept. Eli's 13th Birthday! And 1 month before the USA.

No school today just celebration of our young man's birth. We started the festivities last night with a game of Risk that continues to this point.

We enjoyed pancakes and tacos so far alone with cherry pie. Thanks mom for the shopping and sending goodies. Thanks to everyone who wrote Eli a special letter of advice-he's been reading them since this morning.

Will celebrate with our families next month when we're in Michigan so the celebration is only just beginning.

During video time we took turns weighing our selves so we could contact the airlines for our flight from Cap Haitian to Fort Lauderdale on Oct. 4th...only to learn of a few changes.

Not leaving at 2 p.m. but leaving at 6 a.m. Well that's a big difference! Will be a very early start as we are 1.5 hours from the airport and one needs to be there early to check in, and someone will need to pick up the truck for us.

Plan A would of allowed breakfast and lunch before boarding the plane. Now a VERY early breakfast.

Not one flight to Fort Lauderdale-but one flight to Port-au-Prince and then a second flight after a layover. Lunch?? No real place to buy food at the small airport ..maybe a sack lunch?

Flight from Port-au-Prince on Insel Airlines?? Never heard of them.

Fly from Port to........

Miami?!?! Wait a minute! We have a hotel room in Fort Lauderdale and flight out of Fort Lauderdale on Oct 5th. So not a quick shuttle to and from the airport but at least 2 shuttles.

Not really what we planned on.....and because our travel arrangements on the 5th were made based on a late arrival in the USA we miss the chance to make it back up to Michigan all in one day.

SIGH....time to flex the flexibility and thankfulness muscles again. Still much to be thankful for

As you know, Bedonia has a chronic ulcers on her right foot and the infection already got into her bone according to the doctors. It has become difficult to treat it in the country. So God opens a door for her to go to Marion General Hospital to receive treatment. Bedonia and her mother will be living with Mr Kevin Jones & Mrs Linda at the following address:

They will fly on Saturday September 4, 2010 at 12: 05 from PAP. Please continue to pray for her and her mom, so that God can continue to perform miracle for her.
