Oct. 9

School continues. Eli is doing well with a new spelling program that was set up for dyslexics. Both kids have had a few issues about not reading directions carefully. Wouldn't it be nice in life if we all learned this lesson and always remembered.

How many times to we find ourselves in trouble or in a mess because we jumped into a situation without knowing all the facts? How many times do we struggle to do things the hard way only later to find out the easier way was there all the time? How many times do we forget to pray first and act second? It was a good reminder for myself as well as the children.

Cory is working on setting up the solar panels for the house. One issue he has run into is that the panels are no longer made by the company so it is hard to find information about them on line. Gas prices are now down to $6-7 US a gallon so the price is better but still expensive.

Cory says he needs 3 weeks to get caught up on the garden and yard work. We are planning trip to Port-au-Prince the 20th to the 25th to renew our visas and do some shopping. We are also heading into rainy season. So in an attempted to help Cory get his work caught up we have arranged to hire another man to help with the yard. We know he is a good worker and that he attends the local church but it will be interesting because he is deaf. Cory will need to learn how to talk with his hands.

Please pray for John Pierre's wife as she is past her dates to deliver their 5th child. Being over an hour away from an OB makes me a bit nervous. John Pierre is the gentleman who watches our house when we are gone and is a good friend.
Good mango from the Dominican Republic. Cory plans on planting the seeds.
