Many of the streets are still impassable because of mud. People were still cleaning out their homes and the gutters-putting the mud into the street. Big trucks and heavy equipment are working to remove the mud.
Some houses still had the families furniture and belongings on the roof. We didn't visit the pastor's house but his family spent some nights up on the roof during the worst flooding. No church members lost their lives.
Here is the church.
If you look closely you can see the water mark on the chalk boards. The water wasn't as high in this part of town. This church normally has a school but none of the schools in town have opened yet. All the supplies were lost and many of the streets remain closed so just getting to school would be hard.
Some areas just outside of the town still have standing water. Here the guys are fishing in the yard. We saw several men walki
ng with small catches of fish.
Please continue to pray for Haiti and those in flooding areas.
