Most of this week I have been working on the Wesleyan Medical Ministry blog and invitations to the LaGonave 50th Hospital Anniversary set for the end of June.
I've also spend a bit of time on line checking out school curriculum for homeschooling next year. Today is the last day of the third quarter of the school year for Eli and Anna. We will need to have everything organized so we can buy and pack while we are in the States.
Eli's photo of 4 on a small motorcycle.
We are hopeful that we will have our tickets bought today for the States. The travel agent sent an E-mail yesterday with good prices [guess there is a sale on American Airlines between Port-au-Prince and Miami].
I had class with the three nurses on Tuesday for about an hour. It felt very good to be teaching nurses again and helping them to improve their skills and knowledge base. I had planned to have a class every other week if they wanted but they were thinking a few times a week-so we will met once a week.
We had over 10 inches of rain last week so Cory and Gener have been busy planting the garden. I helped for an hour or so yesterday. Some of the seeds Cory has held onto for over 10 years so we don't know if they will germinate or not.
His carrots did well.
His carrots did well.We had noticed that we hadn't had government electricity for a few days. Well yesterday our batteries ran out of power. So Cory had to start our small generator up so I could work on the computer. Well on the way to get the kids he noticed that the government power was on but returning here no one had power. The story he heard is that this area didn't pay their bill so I guess we had the power cut off. Pray we get it back on soon-gas is expensive.
