Yesterday we drove down the river bed to the Bethanie church. We were thankful that the river wasn't high and we had a good trip. The church service was a blessing. The team went up front to be introduced and most said a few words.
The singing was wonderful. If you look closely you can see that the lady third from the left has crutches-she has a foot that is twisted 90 degrees inward. She sang with the Joy of the Lord. I was able to translate the high points of the sermon. If you want to have results in a Christian life you have to follow what God has told us in the Bible. First we must be faithful and second we need to perserver through the hardships and struggles of life.
Following church we greeted people and they provided cookies and pop. Then we loaded in the truck and headed home.
Mom talked about the accident in the other blog post for today. I was called to the clinic because two other urgent cases came in at the same time. I saw both ladies in their 50's. The first was breathing rapidly, and agitated. Her vital signs were stable and she calmed down during the exam. She wanted to stay the night and have labs done in the morning-so she received pain medications and anti-acids.
The second lady had slumped over in church and couldn't talk. I think she may of had a mini-stroke. Her blood pressure was up a bit. By the end of the exam she was able to talk a little. They didn't want to stay to have her blood pressure watched. So they went home with pain medications for her headache. Then we headed home for a late lunch.
We are learning a lot and having fun with the team. All three couples have been married more than 40 years so it is interesting to see them interact together. There are many interesting discussions around the table.
