Feb. 3-Visit to Limbe

Another good day with the team. We started the morning with a bit of work but stopped for a trip to Limbe about 10 a.m. Limbe is the town about 4 miles to our East. The kids stayed home with the cooks.

We visited the Good Samaritian Hospital. We were privileged to met and be shown the hospital complex by Mrs. Hodges. Dr. Hodges passed away in 1995. They moved to Haiti in 1958 and have been a blessing to the Haitian people.

The hospital currently sees about 100 patients in outpatient clinics. They have 3 permanent Haitian doctors and 3 serving their year of national service. All Haitian doctors serve a year after medical school. We have one coming to Fauche shortly.

Good Samaritian Hospital also has an orphanage for children who are medically challenged. There were about 20 children living there including one baby who is adoptable.

After the hospital tour we went to the museum that Dr. Hodges built. During his time in Haiti he only returned to the States twice-preferring to spend his vacation time at archaeological sites-digging up Haitian history.

The team did work-putting up the screen door, working on the storage unit, grinding up beef from the market and continuing on the electrical problems.
