Lumber Sale

On the way to church on Sunday we passed a section of road that was full of trucks unloading lumber. There were more than 10 big trucks full of rough cut lumber being unloaded.

There were also several large piles of bamboo for use in construction.

As we start to think about teams and projects, getting the supplies needed becomes a big job.

When we arrived in the North the only basic tools they had on the compound were a hammer and a wrench. Last summer we were able to go thru some of Kris' grandfather's tools in Michigan and bring some of them with us. Other tools we brought from LaGonave. Cory ordered a table saw from the states to be shipped in.

If you are going to have a team paint, then you have to get together the paint and supplies. This may be as easy as getting in the car and going down the street or may mean shipping the items in. There are no big hardware stores here but many little shops. One can spend hours going from shop to shop getting one thing here and another there. We are thankful for the internet and Missionary Flights International so that we can ship in things that we can't find localy.
