School

Here is where the kids spend their days. We are thankful that there are other kids down the road also attending so that Cory only has to drive the whole way twice a week. He often gets supplies in Cap Haitian or studies those days so he doesn't have to drive all the way back home on his driving days.
Anna's class has 4 girls and a boy. They have one teacher. There are about 4 in kindergarten, and I think 2 in second grade. The kindergartners attend three times a week.
Eli's teacher teachers 5-8 grades, which at this time include one other 5th grade boy and an 8th grade boy. Eli enjoys his teacher very much and is being challenged with the curriculum.
When attending home school you don't have to remember lunch, water, books or assignments-this has been a change.
They wear uniforms-navy blue with white shirts. But on special days don't have to wear the uniforms. Both kids have enjoyed making friends and playing on the monkey bars. They will have special times of gym, computers, French, and art.
The ride isn't always fun and on one trip all the kids decided that they needed a helicopter [the girls thought maybe a race horse]. Kris has started to join Cory on the trip to pick up the kids the three afternoons they are brought to the other mission. This way Eli can review his science and history in the car and have a 25 minute head start on homework.
Fridays the kids are allowed to check out videos from the school library. This provides new material for Friday family night. The kids are also enjoying the books-learning lots about insects, space, pirates and so forth.
We are thankful for this year, for the people who are making the school possible. Please pray with us for the long road trips [the road is already getting worse with the rains]. Pray that our kids will grow in their Christian walk and live up to their full potentials.
