The wooden door is the outside door, which is why the hat rack is placed there and the box under it contains shoes and sandals. The dark cabinet with glass was in the house when we arrived.
The chairs and couch we brought from LaGonave. The rocking chair was purchased years ago in Port-au-Prince at the request of our moms to rock the kids.
The old trunk was also in the house. The book shelves and desk were made by Kris's dad and Uncle Gene. One can never have to many bookshelves and they make about one a year. The door in the back ground is off a small hall way and enters Anna's bed room. To the left of Anna's door is a bathroom and to the right is the master bedroom.
The cloth door leads to Eli's bedroom, and you can see that the kitchen is behind the living room. The floors are cement. We've been warned during electrical storms not to go barefoot as one can get shocked through the cement.
The windows have bars and screen but can not be closed. If we get a strong windy rain-a light mist blows inside.
Temperatures in the house have ranged between 95-72 in October.
