Photo from our first location in Haiti on LaGonave, Cory's primary garden employee Jeantiny standing by date palms we planted around 2002.
Most winters are too warm to trigger yearly production.
The fruit can be boiled before fully ripening (just before birds and everything else wants to eat them) and then they taste like sweet potato.
Starfysh organization started managing the gardens a few years after we moved to Fauche.
Gener at Fauche made a video of the campus fruit trees. Sorry for the poor quality of photos. Some that are currently fruiting: Thornless Peach Palm (center in photo) and Acai Plam (right side of photo).

Old shells from Cupuasu, a chocolate relative. An excellent fruit that most of the world outside of the Amazon has missed out on enjoying. |

A new (to this area) variety of mango. Several varieties are setting fruit along with a few 'Fuerte' avocados. |
