Week 1 post-evacuation.

For folks who normally have trips to the USA planned months in advance, post-evacuation days can be very hard.

We were told to rest. So we've done some of that.

We know that the Lord wasn't surprised by any of this and He has a plan.

We don't want to waste any time and so have been trying to take every day this week as it came.

Here's a small look at what our first week post-evacuation.

Rest. Prayer time.

Checking the internet for Haiti news. Connecting with concerned partners and thanking them for their prayers.

Spending time with family.
Introducing Fritzlin to winter. Thankfully this week in Michigan was sunny.

Enjoying and taking advantage of 24 hour fast internet!

Cory updated my computer and now I'm working to get 4 months of emails deleted or filed.

We did an interview for a local TV station to help raise awareness of the situation in Haiti and hopefully get more folks praying.

Library, shopping, school with Fritzlin, getting our phone to work in the USA, updates, conference call  with our Haiti team, calls to Leon who's looking after our place and pets....we are thankful to hear his report that our cat returned to the house after being gone for almost a week.

Next week will look similar but we hope to start working on the Konsey book edit, working on scheduling some visits, and contacting supporting partners.

Haiti remained mostly calm this week with more travel, businesses open, some prices dropping back toward normal..but schools did not open.

The opposition continues to call for more protests..only time will tell what happens.

Praying for our Haitian friends, for peace, for stability, for improved food security, for revival.

Praying we will use our time in the USA well and do what the Lord wants us to do.

Tonight we plan to attend Calvin's Rangeela to see Anna perform. An unexpected blessing that comes out of having to leave Haiti.

I am adding Haiti and your family to my prayer requests. Haiti has been through so much. May he bless the efforts you have made and allow you to see them. Thank you for your ministry there.
