A cloudy cool start to Tuesday, June 20 makes it feel more like a winter day here than the day before summer. A nice break from the hot, steamy days so not complaining. The yard greened up after a couple rains last week-no more crunchy grass.
School continues to go well as we continue on with our school year. With 10 weeks to go, our current schedule and pace if continued all summer will put the end of the school year at the end of August. Yay. Then we will either spend a couple weeks on unit study or starting the next year.. French teacher yesterday quizzed us on spelling--warned him that we couldn't spell some of the words in English even..he ended up laughing while correcting our work!
John Pierre headed out to Cap Haitian today with two boxes full of Thede Newsletters for the mail plane. Will target Thursday and Friday to send out the E-mail versions. Thankful to touch base with our support team. We continue to set up visits for this fall as well.
No word yet on Bedonia's paperwork. Please pray as well for Merline's visa. You may remember Merline, Mme. Felecien's daughter who works for the Wesleyans and a dear friend. She married Caleb last June, an American, and continues to wait as well for a visa to travel to the USA.
Also pray for a new guest house manager to replace Merline. As well as other needed workers, cultural advisers, friends and co-workers. Folks like Merline are not found easily. Pray for her family as well as Merline's joining Caleb will be a mixed blessing for them..we understand this pain/blessing of living far from family in a different culture.
July 4th will see the start of the District's annual conference on campus. Know that meetings, paperwork, travel arrangements and more need to be done in the next couple of weeks.
