Team Arrival-with pictures.

This morning our family and Heidi loaded into a big hired truck and headed off to the airport. We did not travel through Cap Haitian but took a road that runs South of the airport. We arrived 20 minutes before the plane and waited [most of us brought a book for any periods of waiting].

Even though the airport is an 'international airport' generally we can enter into the customs area to greet visitors-waiving at them as they fill in the needed paper work and get their passports stamped. Then we chat while waiting for the luggage. When dropping folks off at the airport-we escort leaving visitors all the way through security, check in and can wait in the waiting room until the passengers line up to load up the plane.

Three bags arrived on a second plane but everything worked out well. We traveled a short distance and visited a local Wesleyan church and school. Over 118 students attend up to 6th grade. The pastor showed us around the school [we disrupted each and every class] and the church. When we asked what her top 3 prayer requests would be she listed: spiritual growth for the church, a medical clinic and feeding program to minister to the community and a trade school for training the young people and keep them out of trouble and off the streets.

By the time we headed off for lunch the second plane arrived with the late bags before we made it to lunch so we turned around and picked them up. A local business man's family made lunch for us. A nice break and meal before the couple hour drive back home.

Traffic in Cap Haitian remained very calm and moving at a nice pace thankfully. We arrived back home [25 miles] in just under 2 hours. The team did not think much of our roads. Unpacking and visiting filled up the afternoon while Eli and Anna played with a new soccer ball with their friends.

After supper, dishes, devotions we celebrated Christmas.
Think everyone is tired and will be ready for bed at our normal bed time of 9 p.m.
