Today Haiti receives a new president and government. As politics here always contains unpredictability no one can predict what the future holds. We attended 4 hours of a prayer service last night that focused on Haiti and her people. [Cory and I went after putting the kids in bed shortly after 9 and left early]
I'm thankful that my Creole allowed me to pick up most of the service and that the song leaders recognized we needed the numbers to the songs in the book. By the end I couldn't follow the French Bible readings at all but I did well considering the late hour.
If our small church represented the Protestant churches through out the country then we can expect good things for God' Kingdom and hopefully the country. An incredible experience.
Hearing drums before and after the service along with the specific prayer requests concerning the spiritual warfare occurring in this country emphasized the battle that rages daily but that we so often put out of our minds and lives. Living in Haiti provides reminders of this battle more often that life in the USA for me. I'm been challenged to pray more specifically. More fervently.
I think that unfortunately Satan's lies cover up the power of prayer. Yes Christians know that there is power in prayer but I don't think that most of us realize how much power or we'd spend a lot more time in prayer.
Lord teach me to pray.

So cool that God is working in the people in Fauche and calling them to prayer. And at such late hours...wow, that is really something! A good challenge for us. And, that isn't an apple is it??
I was going to say an apple as well, but then I looked at the leaf attached to it and second guessed myself. One of my kids said a guava.
