March 5. Banana plants & charcoal dust.

Last week at this time the team enjoyed the day working on small projects-little did any of us know it would be their last full day in Haiti.

[Work on the gazebo cemented in the base of the PVC flanking the door]

The last couple of days Cory distributed more banana plants.

Yesterday two trips to the market place in Port Margot collected charcoal powder from where the charcoal selling occurs - its more than a foot deep is some places.

Cory needed the charcoal to mix with the loads of rice hulls he transported to the nursery earlier in the week to make a good potting mix.

Also if the rice hulls aren't covered, the chickens scratch and dig at the hull pile until it is spread flat.

As a thank you the charcoal vendors received some banana plants.

Today Cory and the guys made an early morning trip to Pastor Emmanuel's church with a truck load of banana plants.

The area grows good banana plants and so the guys brought new varieties to share with the people.

Thankful the surgery went well but so sorrowful that your visit was cut short. The school photo with pressed uniform and banana plants made me smile.

Hope your concrete dried so much more quickly and has less problems than ours!

School uniforms required for schools in Haiti. Concrete dried without problems. Thanks. BTW Eli enjoyed seeing your son's Lego project on your blog.
