Yesterday the Fauche Wesleyan church hosted Compassion's Child Survival Programs Celebration of the Family Service. While it did not start until 9:30 we arrived at 9 as we had been asked. By 10 the seating started to be crowded and by 11 the place held folks shoulder to shoulder. I think we had well over 400 people but hard to judge with so many babies being held in laps.
Special music provided by the choir from the Port Margot Adventast church. They raised the roof! Several short speaches by staff-our project holds the honor of being the best in Haiti. The sermon talked about a healthy marriage-both the wife's and husband's responsiblities. Following the benidicion people received gifts.
Afterwards I thought of all the potential that had been packed in that one building. Those kids can change Haiti. In the afternoon some of the kids returned for the children's club. Now the two churches nearest to us are also asking about starting up children's clubs.
Today I visited with 10 folks in clinic: 2 pregnant ladies, a little girl with chickenpox, a cubby healthy baby, a couple folks with urinary infections and a few cases of malaria. Many of them left with Moringa trees.
Pastor Rigo reported that his wife felt well enough to travel with him yesterday to visit a church. Didn't have a chance to ask about the doctor situation.
