Haiti Prayer Requests.

  • Hundreds of thousands in need of: tents, food, water, medical care, school supplies, jobs, spiritual teaching.
  • Safety from additional earthquakes and mudslides as the spring rains start.
  • Heath despite the risks of living outside under sheets and in tent city-malaria, typhoid, dysentery, respiratory flu, stomach flu, measles, mumps, meningitis, Dengue fever etc.
  • Continued medical care for injuries and trauma directly caused by the earthquake. Adjustments for the hundreds of amputees and parapelegics.
  • Additional supplies and medical personnel for the Petit Goave clinic. We just learned that the hospital has been shut down and so the Wesleyan field clinic is now a hospital complete with surgery, emergency care and in-patients.
  • Care for orphans and elderly who have lost caretakers.
  • Psychological stress and illness from the trauma as well as stressful living conditions and risks.
  • Missionaries-change of job descriptions, heavy schedules as deal with personal stress. Working outside skill sets and comfort zones.
  • Team organization, supplies, travel and projects-many people still coming to help. No commercial airline flights yet to Port-au-Prince.
  • School restarting in many of the provences with additional students who have relocated from Port.
  • Planning of the rebuilding of Port-au-Prince, dealing with food distribution, housing, medical care, school, jobs.
  • Communities and missionaries who depended on Port-au-Prince for purchase of food, supplies, guesthouses, government paperwork.
  • Additional costs-increase cost of supplies, food, medical supplies, housing, travel.
  • That opportunities to witness about eternal life will not be pushed aside by the pressing needs of this life.
  • Political stability-elections have been delayed. Growing protests about not enough help, to slow help....

  • Thede's plan to travel by MAF charter flight to Port-au-Prince on Feb. 20th to hep run the Petit Goave station/field clinic for two weeks.
