The sun is shinning. The morning doves are cooing. And the kids are happy that is is Saturday. Ok-so are Mom and Dad. We will spend the day together, no road trips, doing odd jobs and homework.
We welcomed a new nephew to our family this week. Congratulations to Tim and Mindy Thede.
The house is mostly back in order with everything in it's place. When 4 extra people live in the house and 3-4 others are joining for meals things get left out a lot. It was worth it though! Let us know if you would like to plan a visit.
Cory has had a chance to work in the garden again. Eli's Moringa tree is almost ready for it's first harvest. The wing beans are doing well. carrots and Broccoli are also doing well. It is great to see things thriving here that we couldn't grow on LaGonave. The tomatoes are under daily attacks by the chickens but tomatoes are abundant in the markets this time of year. We have had a few short rains at night this week. The Artemisia that mom transplanted is also growning well.
The team was amazed at the number of roosters in the area. The idea that roosters only crow at dawn is a fairy tale. The ones in Haiti crow all night and during the day. There is a lot of cock fighting in this area as well. Twice on recent trips we have seen 10-15 roosters staked just out of contact range from each other waiting for fights.
