Nov. 25

Saturday we enjoyed the Thanksgiving dinner at the Radio Station with missionaries from the area. It was a very international gathering: Canadians, Haitians, South Americans, Irish, English, Americans, and perhaps others. The food and fellowship were great. We were able to meet and talk with several people who we hadn't met or ones who had only met Cory.

The kids ran around and played with the other kids. Cory even collected a few plant cuttings to start at Fauche, including a very fragrant plumeria.

Sunday we stayed on the compound and enjoyed church at Fauche. We are alternating Sundays on the road to both give Cory and the kids a break from being on the road and to allow John Pierre a chance to attend the Port Margo church with his family.

We were able to talk a bit with Dr. Marylin Hunter who will be completing a three week visit to LaGonave on Tuesday. She reported that the hospital has been busy with both surgical cases and babies with respiratory problems. The Lord has sent a Cuban family practice doctor who is also experienced with ICU and surgical work. He speaks both French and English and is working on Creole. The nurses are working hard.

Please continue to pray for additional missionary and Haitian staffing-for both the hospital and the hospital office.

Marylin has also taken on some of the planning of the hospital's 50th anniversary celebration that is to take place the last weekend in June, 2008. Sounds like they have some good ideas and plan to work on sprucing up the place for the party.

LaGonave is also hosting a team from the States this week. We hear they are keeping busy. The boat has had to go to the mainland for supplies, medications and fuel this week as well.
