Family Trip West with lots of pictures

Last week we loaded up a rented motor home with my folks, my brother's family, and our five and headed West.

We had talked about a big trip for a few years and last summer blocked out dates in case we could travel this year.

Back in February, less than a week after we evacuated, Cory and I were given the task of finding places to stay along the route to the Grand Canyon.

Each place was different and we had to set up in the dark a couple of times.

Thankfully the first night, when we arrived 10 minutes after the staff were done for the night the lady was still in the office.

Elk have a sweet tooth!
No rain, no bad weather, no accidents...praise the Lord.

Lots of good family time, amazing scenery, safe miles on the road.

We experienced a dust devil while waiting to take pictures at the Four Corners Monument; saw humming birds attacking a bull elk drinking from their sugar water;
and enjoyed a great supper with my mom's cousin in Albuquerque;
Snow in July!?!!and visited my dad's youngest brother's grave in Oklahoma.

The day at the Grand Canyon was full of God's beautiful handy-work as was the drive through the Petrified Forest National Park.

Close up of the type of gnarled old tree in photo above.
So thankful that our children, especially Fritzlin, will have memories of the trip and family.

[I was even able to fit in some Konsey book editing in during my navigating time when Cory drove.]

As soon as we unloaded, cleaned, and returned the RV we switched into Haiti mode.

We had three bags packed before the trip and are now up to five.

Today Anna returns to camp and the hard good byes start.
During REquip the 'pair of ducks' were talked about with both the adults and children.. the "paradux" of mixed feelings. Yuck and Yay!..

Very much where we are living this week..excited to return home but so sad to leave family.

Thanks for your prayers.

NEVER GIVE UP. And bloom where you are planted.

The horticulturist could have spent more time at this park
