A magnitude 7 earthquake just hit Haiti with the center being located 10 miles South West of Port-au-Prince. We felt the tremor long enough, maybe 30 seconds to get out of the house. One wooden snowman fell off a wooden shelf.
See on a friend's Facebook who lives between us and PAP that his neighbor's wall fell over.
We have felt 2 aftershocks with one being big enough to make us leave the house again. We're still feeling small aftershocks.
We have tried to call the other missionaries on LaGonave as well as Port-au-Prince but the phones are not working.
It may be a while before we hear any news. But we'd appreciate prayers. Many buildings in Haiti are not built to any kind of building safety code. And with cooking fires and kerosene lamps-fire can also be an issue.
