Would you like to make a difference? It will take a bit of your time, every day of December.
I'd like to ask, beg, challenge you to partner with us by agreeing to remember the Wesleyan Fauche Health Center every day for the month of December in your prayers.
Could you do this for us??
This small health center was started up a few years ago as a way for the Northern Wesleyan Church district to minister to their own community. The nearest town a few miles down the road has over 40,000 citizens, two part time clinics and no doctors. We're the only clinic to the West of Limbee that provides 24 hour care, delivers babies, and until recently had the only doctors.
One way we uniquely are able to bless patients is through the use of an indigent fund that allows us to supplement the health care costs for those who can not pay up front. At many locations, including the government hospitals, the medications and treatments have to be paid for in advance-before you receive the care. In emergency situations this can be life threatening.
Many of you remember me asking for prayer about Dr. Dorsaintvil who was let go from his Medical Director position in August. Now he has moved his medical practice a few houses down the road. I'm told that he is telling folks that there is no long any doctors at our clinic and even has folks watching for patients walking down the street to our clinic so that they can be redirected to his clinic. It is believed that if he wanted a successful practice it would of made more business sense to have started his practice in Port Margo, a nearby town without any doctors and 40,000 people. So the only reason to have started a clinic where he did is to get back at the Wesleyan clinic.
In the month of December we're running a special. As an early New Years gift to those in the community a normal visit including basic laboratory testing and basic medications will be for a lower than normal price. For the first week we're expecting to be joined by a visiting Pediatrician and Generalist from the USA.
Almost on a yearly basis we are assigned an Intern doctor to serve the required year of National Health service following medical school in Haiti, Cuba or Dominican Republic. This past year we were blessed with a local Wesleyan doctor returning home for his year of service. Dr. Vixamar has not only been actively providing medical care but he is also involved in our church youth and children's ministries. He has agreed to spend an extra month helping us out for the December special.
Please join us in prayer. I would like to be able to give our hospital Administrator Pastor Rigo
Some specific requests:
- For a large spiritual impact in the community for the Kingdom of God.
- That the truth about the clinic and staff would become known in this area
- That many will receive needed medical care during this month.
- Pastor Rigo's physical, spiritual and emotional health-he has a sister in the middle of a psychological break, a church to shepherd almost 3 hours travel time from the clinic, the clinic work to run and he's active with the District's ministry to the youth.
- The small team from the USA to be ministering Dec. 1-9.
- February His Hands team plans to work on the clinic/hospital buildings. Pray that the needed supplies are found at a good price. Roofing paint, oil paint, screen, wood, ceiling tiles.....
- Each patient can receive a Moringa Tree to take home to plant. We pray that these trees live many years-providing nutrition to many and that the folks learn the value of this tree.
- That the video equipment runs well sharing videos to those waiting.
- For the supplies needed especially medications to be here and not run out.
- For equipment in the laboratory, generator, lights to run well.
- Typically December is a rainy month here-may the rains hold off until the afternoons and evenings.
- For wisdom for the leadership of the medical work.
- For Dr. Vixamar as he considers additional residency training. Also if/when we receive our next intern that it will be a doctor of good quality who is willing to work well with the other staff and toward the goals of the ministry here.
Please encourage your church members, small group members, family members, prayer chains to pray for us. If your church has a web page or monthly news letter please remember this request. If groups meet for men's breakfast, women's groups, Youth meetings, prayer meetings--please remember us.
If you could sit with us on a dark night with the Voodoo drums booming out for hours over the campus you'd have no doubt of the spiritual battle all around us. This is why we need your prayers to protect us and the equipment. We know that by attempting to expand our impact in the community thought this month's outreach that we're going to run into increased levels of resistance.
I'd like to ask, beg, challenge you to partner with us by agreeing to remember the Wesleyan Fauche Health Center every day for the month of December in your prayers. [Feel free to use all or parts of this E-mail to pass along this request]
Could you do this??
Merci,

We will be praying, and sending out a similar request today!
I will definitely be praying for and with you each day in December. We will also pass on this request to our church family, if that is okay.
