Thanks to all off those who wrote E-mails, comments or prayed for me after reading my last post. Comforting to know that I have such supportive friends.
I think I ended up dealing with the day in a healthy manner-I wrote the blog and on the Sonlight forums to get encouraging words and prayers. I ate one chocolate covered peanut [thanks folks]. I exercised by playing volleyball with my kids. After supper, shower and about 30 minutes of a Game boy game needing little to no thinking-I went to bed.
School continues to go pretty well with the kids. Today one of us [not me] had several dramatic melt downs and will be going to bed early. It will help next week [Lord willing] when their friends start school. Encouraging evidence today-they were working on the school chairs and benches.
We often say [only half in just] that everything is harder or more difficult in Haiti. Even science experiments can be included. Anna's plants are growing a 2-3 times the normal rate. This is messing up the data recording that she is supposed to be doing.
I experimented too last weekend. My experimenting generally comes from trying to cook with limited supplies or by trying to use up abundant ones. 'Haitian' Key Lime pie with homemade sweetened/condensed milk and cornmeal quiche. Everyone liked the quiche and the adults liked the pie.
Cory had to spend part of the day on electrical wires. A tree branch took down a line and there were some other issues as well. Not his idea of fun.
No meetings this week which would normally be a praise in our house as we're not big on attending meetings. But it is really more of a prayer request as we need to met with the District Committee about the expectations and start of Chris and Kathleen's English classes.
More pictures later-can't get them to download.
