16th July.

It is 5:18 p.m.- cloudy with a slight breeze and 91 degrees. Eli and Anna are out playing and Cory is plugging in the water pump. He just returned from a 3 hour walk. Will see if I can get him to blog or at least tell about a few of the pictures he took.

Yesterday I gave my first ever cat injection. I'm a multi-skilled doctor [helps having grown up on the farm]. I did worry a bit that Rose may protest this injection with her teeth or nails-wrote a vet for advice as well as surfed the Internet.

Because we know that there is rabies in the 'wild' here we wanted to have Rose protected. Our whole family received the vaccines once we knew we were moving to the North. So my dad went with me right before we left Michigan down to the vet clinic and he bought Rose her vaccine.

We kept it cold on ice during the trip. Cory was to hold. Anna provided some nice yummy cat food that she had bought for Rose at a dollar store visit in Michigan with Grandma Thede. And Eli was back-up. Rose did great! Not a peep out of her as she gulped down her treat.

We also had our fist ever piano lessons yesterday. OK-not really piano but keyboard. I took lessons for many years but haven't done anything with that knowledge since high school. Cory found a key board on E-bay and we shipped it in on MFI [used up some Christmas money from the folks]. The thing that tops a piano is headphones for practice!

School is going well. We are loving the reading books. I think that most days I learn as much as the kids. The only thing we are having trouble getting started with is French. Cory is working on it-the computer program has to be re-activated.

Happy Birthday-Lori. Thanks for all the fun comments from you guys on the blog. Keep up the good work.

You must have done a fantastic job. Most cats hate going to the vet. Good Job!
Cute cat. :-)

Thanks. I admit to being a bit worried. The vet had written me that cats like shots worse than kids. Glad that job is done!

I hear you on the history learning. I never enjoyed it as a student and basically memorized the facts to get a good grade on the history test. Now I am learning (or relearning) SO much with our history reading and I actually love it this time!
