Sept. 7 Looking back.

On Sunday September 11 when the world thinks about 9/11 we also think about our time in Haiti.

September 11, 1998 Cory, Eli and I moved to LaGonave. Wow- a lot of good and bad things shaped our lives during the last 13 years. I'm thankful for many things:
  • That I've grown up in many areas and attitudes. Lessons learned.
  • For the amount of wonderful people we met both in Haiti and in the USA because of our ministry here. The privilege of knowing so many special folks and having a wonderful support team cannot be over emphasized.
  • Homeschool- Never would of predicted this one in the early years but I now truly love the time I get to spend with Eli and Anna learning alongside them.
  • Seeing how the Lord works throughout difficult circumstances and provides.
  • Being able to touch and change lives with the Lord's love. Our fingerprints on many lives and our hearts forever changed by this adventure.
  • Being able to reach out by E-mail and internet to lend medical, school or agricultural advice to folks working throughout the world.
  • Our health and safety. No major health issues during our time here.
  • Global perspective gained by living overseas. Raising my third culture kids.
  • Our Haitian family, lifestyle, culture, food and language.
  • Improving skills like teaching, communication, writing and photography.
  • Not taking for granted as much as I once did: family, friends, running water, electricity, good roads.....and much more.
