Sept. 12 Avoiding Procrastination.

It helps that I live in a slower paced culture than most of you do to avoid procrastination. What triggered my thoughts on procrastination?

Thinking back over our 13 years in Haiti, remembering 9/11, reading blogs of how Haiti's earthquake changed lives and hearing that my sister-in-law Beth would be battling cancer all lead to some reflection about MY Life.

I'm still thinking things through but am seeing that I need to be more intentional, prioritize my goals after making some and avoid procrastination. Because putting things off may lead to regrets.

If I just sit back and do nothing time will keep advancing. Minutes or hours can be lost easily never to return. Reminders that life can be short and unpredictable push me to make goals.

I find if I keep in mind what I would like to have accomplished at the end of the day-I'm more likely to accomplish it or at least be closer and in turn less time just disappeared into nothing.

I also find that I am now able to release my anger and ask forgiveness a bit faster, laugh easier, let little irritations go and focus better because Life is Just To Short.

To short to waste even if I have another 50 years. Lots to do and experience. Relationships to work on and people to encourage.

So today instead of thinking that I need to write a few letters-I wrote some letters. I set a couple more goals. I responded to some E-mails rather than putting them off until later. I'm shortening my computer time so I can work on my next book, go pick some flowers, and enjoy watching my kids interact with their friends.

Thanks for listening. Kris
Sorry 4th day without being able to down load pictures.
