Sunday we enjoyed participating in the Northern District Youth Conference. Because
of economics only 50 young people were able to attend this year. In the morning Pastor Denord talked to them about finding the ministry the Lord has for you and doing it.
Sunday afternoon I had been asked to talk to the group about health issues. After a brief talk about reducing the health risks that you can reduce [being right with God and others, abstinence, no alcohol or drugs....] The floor was opened for questions-and for the next hour or so we had some interesting conversations ranging from 'swine flu', colds, STD's, how you know that something someone tells you is true, and our bodies being the Lord's temple.
My final challenge to them was to partner with some of our missionary friends in Asia. I had 70 prayer cards and asked that only those who would commit to daily prayers for this area of the world where Christians are persecuted to take a card. I don't know if any were left over but I know that the Asia prayer team grew. Great things will come from our prayers.
Last night Cory and I went to the night service as a fellow Global Partner's missionary was speaking. We enjoyed hearing Pastor Carl talk about healing relationships and not letting past hurts cause us to hurt others. The final song was accompanied by hugs and 'God bless you' I got a bit choked up being hugged by 30 or so teens.
Please pray for these young people who have such great potential to work for the Lord.
Anna had been wanting to use a hair wrap kit. It took much longer than she thought it would-so [thankfully] I don't think she'll be asking for another in a while. And we still have taking it out to look forward to.

Wow, that's great about the Asia prayer team. Sounds like you had quite the broad range of questions to tackle. Glad it went well. Tell Anna her hair looks great! I need to have someone teach me how to put beads in Mical's hair. Thinking about going and having it done soon. Too bad I can't give Anna the job! It takes me an hour just to comb out her hair and put little Ponytails in it =)
