June 26 The Migration Has Started

Yes, the Migration has started at our house. Want to guess of what?
.
.
.
.
Stuff. Yes as our departure date draws nearer the time has come to start dealing with our possessions.

We are very grateful to my folks for letting us stay in their basement apartment and that a fair amount of our things don't have to be dealt with every trip.

This time as we intend to be in Haiti for over a year we are trying to free up some closet and dresser space for any other visitors who may drop in for a visit. So we have started to organize and sort.

Migration locations include: upstairs or down the road to the folks, into a suitcase or box bound for Haiti, into a storage drum in the old grainery in the barn for longer storage, to the Hands of God Distribution center run by Kris's brother, Todd's church, the magazine recycle pile, or the trash.

Right before we leave we will divide any food that is still in the cupboards.

Two suitcases are packed. As we are flying directly into Cap Haitian our plane is a small one. Therefore we had to send in our personal body weights-a month before the flight and will be standing on the scales again directly before boarding. And we only get a total of 50 pounds of luggage each-including care ones.

In case your wondering the luggage photo was from last year's trip back to Haiti. And the second one was before vacation with the TerAvest's.

I hope to see you guys next Sunday at AWC before your return trip home.
I know how tough moving is. I will be praying for safe travels and a stress-free move.
Enjoy the cooler weather while you can. :-)
