We worked on newsletters-which will not be sent out until next week as we have to print the address list in Haiti. But the letters are otherwise ready to go. Dad and Eli chatted while running the letters through a tri-folder.
Saturday we started out working on the newsletters but the weather was just to nice to stay inside. We enjoyed lunch at the VA with Great Grandpa Thede and said our good-byes.
Then we visited the dunes at Silver Lake and walked to Lake Michigan. This was interesting as part of last years school we read a couple books about desert life. Don't think it would be much fun to live on the sand.
Yesterday the 'stuff migration continued' as we took a load to the Hands of God Distribution center in Richland. We're thankful that items we no longer need will be able to bless others.
Today was packing day-4 suitcases are ready to go as well as two boxes to be shipped. Need to carefully watch our luggage weights as every pound overweight on Lynx Air would cost us $3. Ouch!
We will be celebrating birthdays tonight with Cory's family as we will not be here for them. Cory received his 'birthday orchids' in the mail. While his birthday isn't until October he bought some orchids on-line so we can bring them back with us.

Hi there ~ We've never met, but I have been enjoying your blog this summer. I used to do the newsletter for His Hands up until last month and I think your Dad is on the Board? Can't remember for sure. Regardless, thanks for sharing your ministry through this blog. I also homeschool and use Sonlight. However, unlike you, I stayed away from the curriculum sale at the HSB because it's so big it's overwhelming for me! But what a great place for you to get materials to bring to Haiti. You will have to work your next furlough around that sale! *Grin* Anyway - I wanted to say safe travels and I will be praying for you.
HI Sherry,
Welcome to the blog! Always glad to 'met' a Sonlight friend or a His Hands friend. Looks like next year we will be in the USA in the fall [Oct-Dec] but think we could talk Cory's mom into going to HSB for us if we need anything. Are you on the SL forums? I'm Fauche. Maybe next trip we can met up someplace- my kids really like to met new friends. Thanks for the prayers.
