Sunday on LaGonave.

With still too many people for one breakfasts, the folks taking the first of two boats ate first while those going to church in Anse-a-Galet would eat later.

Sunday turned out to be a cloudy day with occasional light drizzle. The folks for the first boat left in time for Cory and I to walk to church with the rest of the group.

The visitors were acknowledged and allowed to give greetings. A few of us 'old-timers' did not go forward but were pointed out and we stood in our seats. I translated for the four people seated in front of us.

Pastor Contave, long time hospital employee who deals with receiving money from patients, talked about us returning to God.

Following church and the greetings from friends we'd not seen in years, we walked back to the guest house.

Missionary church met in the new guesthouse dinning room at 10:30. Our children attended and I enjoy the music while getting people's bags and people headed out toward the trucks to go to the boat dock.

Three young men who worked on setting up the solar panel system for both hospital and mission compound left by plane as well.

Now we said good-bye to those leaving on the second boat as the boat crew wanted to cross as soon as possible especially with the cloudy weather.

With most people gone the guest house and compound activity started to quiet and slow down. Not much left we needed to do-just one truck to the airstrip in the morning before the kids and I joined 4 others on the boat. Cory planned to leave much earlier with Jeantiny on the ferry so that he could be in Port-au-Prince early.

A few tasks we'd completed that I neglected to mention: Cory obtained a cashiers check we needed to renew our residential visas, I'd toured the old hospital and seen a few more nurses, Eli and I picked out some books from the old guest house to borrow and I'd gone with Julian and Marie to pick up some surplus donated medications and supplies from the storage room, to be transported north for the Fauche medical work. Anna and Eli enjoyed spending time with the other children on the compound.
